Preston Park Brighton
Preston Park is Brighton's largest urban park at 63 acres and is situated to the north of the town centre.
It was purchased in 1883 by Brighton Corporation from William Bennett- Stanford the then owner of Preston Manor who had been developing its grounds as enclosed pleasure ground.
The park is home to many fine Elms and over many years the local parks department has continued to supplement the Elm treescape by planting young trees for the future. Of special note are the Preston Twins a pair of 400 year+ English Elms Ulmus minor var.vulgaris
